J R Biomedical Limited, founded in 2005, is a UK medical device development and commercialisation company, focussed on research and clinical diagnostics in the fields of infectious diseases and inflammation.

The company is ISO13485:2016 certified for the design, development and distribution of medical diagnostics. Our customers include UK universities, research institutions, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and retailers.

Fast and early diagnosis of inflammation

In collaboration with Cardiff University, we have developed and commercialised a simple, 10 minute rapid test for soluble Toll-like receptor 2 (sTLR2), which is an ultra-early indicator of infectious and non-infectious inflammation with applications in the field of sepsis. The sTLR2 RAPID is UKCA certified for clinical use in Great Britain and manufactured at our North Wales laboratory.

As well as providing commercialisation services to academics and university spin-out companies, developing new, innovative rapid tests and ELISA diagnostics, the company also distributes research and clinical diagnostics on behalf of European and US manufacturers including Demeditec Diagnostics GmbH, VEDALAB, MotilityCount ApS, and VivaChek Inc.

J R Biomedical is a member of the British In Vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA), MediWales, and the British Society for Immunology.
